OVERVIEW

How is performance measured in your organization?  Based on friendship, politics or gossip?  Based on the most recent complaint?  Based on gut feel or on outdated transition? 

 

What if there were a way to manage components of performance that could improve business outcomes and ease their achievement? 

 

There IS such a way.  It’s called Evidence Based Performance Measures, and it’s a way of managing based on measures that have been customized to the documented needs of your operation. 

 

WEEK ONE:  One half day in person meeting

 

    1. Principles of  EBPM
    2. Overview of  5 Mistakes with Solutions
    3. Syllabus review and collateral materials
    4. Prework assignment  (25% of final grade)

 

WEEKS TWO THROUGH SIX::  90 minute video telecons (all telecons are recorded and available for download) (Participation is 50% of final grade)

 

Each week is devoted to one of the 5 typical mistakes in constructing performance measures.  From the pre-work assignments submitted by students, instructor selects excerpts and posts these to the class message board one week in advance of class.  Students must analyze all postings and provide recommendations for revisions directly to instructor. . 

 

Telecon instruction links to a fill-in-the-blank study guide provided to each student.  Selected student submissions are critiqued and revised.  Instructor remains available for another 30 minutes in case of additional questions.

 

GRADING:

 

  1. Present and on time for the 6 learning sessions
  2. Quality and timeliness of assignments
